Eligibility Criteria
- Graduated from high school and was admitted to a 4 year college, a community college or a certified trade training.
- Hispanic or of Hispanic descent.
- Citizen or legal resident of the United States. Foreign students with student visas do not qualify.
- Resident of Mobile or Baldwin counties.
- Not a Board member or close relatives of HABAGC´s Board members or Scholarship Committee members.
- Bilingual ability preferred.
- Proof of financial need with a copy of FAFSA or other acceptable documentation.
Application Requirements
- Official copy of high school transcript, including current GPA. College transcript if applicant is in college.
- One letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor.
- Essay: How your Hispanic heritage has influenced your school and/or college life and your life in general.
Maximum of 500, typed, double-spaced, Times Roman 12 font. - Statement of educational purpose: What is your field of study and future plans.
200 words maximum, typed, double-spaced, Times Roman 12 font. - Copy of résumé listing activities, jobs, responsibilities, and awards from 9th to 12th grade or after.

Only applications dated and/or postmarked by April 30 will be considered.
HABAGC´s Board and scholarship committee reserves the right to request an interview with the candidates.
Scholarship Award: Depending on the number of candidates the award will be between $500 & $1,500.
Candidates will be notified by email. Scholarships will be mailed upon receipt of proof of college/training/Community College enrollment in August.
